$ 1.5 bln invested in Azerbaijan’s ICT sector during the past 6 years

$1.5 bln was invested in Azerbaijan's ICT sector during past 6 years, which 21% of this was foreign investment, Deputy Minister of Communication and Information Technologies Elmar Valizadeh said at the Azerbaijan Investment Summit – 2011 conference.

According to him, ICT sector rose 5 times during past 7 years, average annual growth made 30-35%: "Azerbaijan's ICT sector rose 13.7% during the crisis. This index was 32.1% last year".

He also noted that, Azerbaijan was completely telephonized in 2010.

"In general, $ 204.1 mln was invested in ICT sector in 2010. This number made $ 1.6 bln during past 6 years", he added.
