At the session of the Caspian-European Integration Business Club (CEIBC), SOCAR Vice President for Refining Davud Mammadov said that fuel produced by company’s refineries conforms to Euro-2 standard.
“Start of manufacture of diesel fuel on Euro-3 standard is scheduled for 2012 and petrol for the first half of 2013. The operating refineries are not able to begin production of fuel on standards Euro-4, Euro-5 and Euro-6, as it demand large investments and territory of enterprises does not allow expanding. As a result, higher standards will be applied in the new complex planned for construction,” Mammadov said.
Starting from 1 July 2010, Azerbaijan is to ban import of cars not conforming to Euro-3 standard.
