Azerbaijan hopes to complete reconstruction of Baku-Russia, Baku-Iran and Baku-Georgia highways till 2011

Ministry of Transport reports that the scaled works of construction and rehabilitation of roads of international and republican meaning with use of contemporary technologies are ongoing.

“The Programme includes Baku-border with Russia wide-band road on a concrete basis as well as Baku-border with Iran and Baku-border with Georgia roads. All construction works are planned to be finished till 2011,” it was informed.

The programme is estimated at more than $1 bn. and its implementation started in 1997 by separate segments of Baku-Georgia highway.
