"Baku Underground has appealed to Binagadi district court on occupying the area of new metro station in the 7th and 8th micro districts," said Nazakat Tanriverdiyeva, spokesperson for Baku Underground.

She told the APA that there are lot of illegal houses and trade establishments in this area. Tanriverdiyeva said the houses were built without permission of Baku Mayor's Office.

"The process is under the government's control and all illegal establishments will be removed. Tagi Ahmadov, chief of Baku Underground warned the residents about it. The residents and the district administration ignored it. We appealed to the State Committee on Work with Refugees and IDPs on April 3," she said.

Tanriverdiyeva said that a part of the cemetery situated there will also be replaced.

Binagadi district court confirmed to the APA that they received the claim.

Administrator of 1001 Nights restaurant situated on the tunnel of the station told the APA that they are aware of construction of new metro station but they are not told that the establishment will be removed.

"Such a warning should be made two months before, so that the equipment can be replaced," he said.

Umeyr Huseynov, vice-president of Azerbaijan International University told the APA that the university’' playground is situated on the tunnel. He said that there is no problem in removing the playground.

"All departments of the university were built with consent of governmental bodies. Therefore, no department of the university impedes the construction of the metro station. Only playground is situated there and there is no problem in its removing," he said.

Binagadi Executive Power and State Committee on Work with Refugees and IDPs are taking measures for removing 40 IDP families settled there in 1992.
