Ali Abbasov meets with Caspian Integration Business Club members

Communications and Information technologies Minister met with Caspian Integration Business Club members.

Club President Telman Aliyev gave brief information about the Club, saying Ilham Aliyev is an honorary chair of the club.

Ali Abbasov spoke about activities and achievements in communications sector, noting that he met with heads of Microsoft, Intel and Cisco at World Economic Forum, Davos. As a result of the meeting, Azerbaijan and Microsoft will ink a strategic partnership agreement.

"Draft agreement is being developed at present. Microsoft will take part in computerization of schools, by providing professional computers and software," he underscored.

He emphasized that Azerbaijan should become ICT transit center and the package of proposals on Regional Innovation Project will be introduced to the Government and Parliament. Within the scope of the project, International University of Information Technologies will be created and it will admit 6o students for master's degree at the first phase.

"This project will revive ICT sector. After 10-15 years, ICT revenues will be comparable with petrodollars," he noted.

At the end of the event, Ali Abbasov was presented an Honorary Certificate, APA reports.
