Azerigas official Vagif Namazov told APA that Azerigas had warned regions where the level of bill collection is under 60% that it would cut off gas supply from December 25, but extended the date to the end of this year.
Bilasuvar Gas Supply Department Chair Eldar Tahirov told APA that the region increased collection of gas bills to 64% last month. The level of payment went down to 40% this month as the gas supply to the region was increased due to winter.
"It is difficult to collect gas bills from people. Nobody wants to pay bills voluntarily. We requested Azerigas to stop gas supply because we had failed to collect bills," he said.
Bilasuvar Executive Power said that special groups have been set up so as to encourage people to pay bills, and gas supply is likely to be restored on holidays.
