             He said that the parties failed to reach common agreement on the prices and amount of the gas during the bilateral meeting held in Moscow, APA reports.
"Gazprom plans no special privilege for Azerbaijan. The offer of $235 per 1,000 cu meters is still in effect. The Government of Azerbaijan is puzzling over the offer, and will probably answer Gazprom today," he said.
SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev, Vice-President Elshad Nasirov, Gazprom Officer in Baku Akif Hasanov and Gazprom deputy chair Aleksandr Medvedyev met in Moscow last week to discuss elements of the gas supplies to Azerbaijan for 2007.
Azerbaijan is receiving 4.5bn cu m of gas at a price of $110 per 1,000 cubic meters this year. But, for 2007 Gazprom wants to charge Azerbaijan $235 per 1,000 cu m of Russian gas, which offered $230 previously.
