02 January 2025 [16:30] - TODAY.AZ

In the first eleven months of 2024, Azerbaijan witnessed a notable increase in the production of gypsum and anhydrite, with a total of 495.5 thousand tons produced. This marks a 6.7% rise compared to the same period in 2023, when the production volume was 464.2 thousand tons. The data, obtained by Azernews from the State Statistical Committee, highlights the country's consistent growth in the mining and production sectors.

The production of gypsum and anhydrite, essential materials used in the construction industry, has been steadily increasing over the years. The 31.3 thousand ton increase this year is a clear indication of the country's expanding production capacity and growing demand for these materials. As the construction industry continues to thrive, the need for gypsum and anhydrite remains high, fueling the growth of this sector.

As of December 1, 2024, the stock of finished products in the country stood at 27.2 thousand tons. This inventory ensures that there is a steady supply of gypsum and anhydrite available for ongoing and upcoming construction projects, further cementing Azerbaijan's position as a key player in the production of these materials.

Azerbaijan's growth in the gypsum and anhydrite production sector is not only a result of domestic demand but also reflects the country's expanding export potential. The increase in production is expected to contribute significantly to the national economy, boosting the industrial sector and supporting the overall economic growth of Azerbaijan.

With a robust industrial infrastructure and continuous investment in production capacities, Azerbaijan is poised to meet the growing demands of both domestic and international markets. The country's ability to produce high-quality gypsum and anhydrite positions it as an important supplier in the region and beyond.

As Azerbaijan continues to strengthen its industrial base, it is expected that production in the gypsum and anhydrite sector will continue to rise, contributing to the diversification of the economy and further enhancing the country's global competitiveness.
