Azerbaijan's stock market jumps

he total turnover of transactions on all trading areas of the Baku Stock Exchange (BSE) in Jan, 2012 amounted to 940 million manat, increasing turnover by 5.2 times compared to Jan, 2011, the exchange said in a statement issued Wednesday.The market for corporate securities decreased by 1.8 times compared to Jan, 2011, amounting to 25.6 billion manat. It is due to decreased volume of transactions in corporate bonds by 2 times, while market of stock increased by 66.3 per cent.
The government securities market has grown by 6.8 times, reaching 914.4 million manat. It is due to a nearly tenfold increase in repo transactions and a 1.8-fold increase in transactions with Central Bank notes.
