Elchin Aliyev: "I tried to commit suicide because of kidnapping Zamire by my uncle"

26 members of the gang stand trial presided by Judge Ali Seyfaliyev in the second half of the day, APA reports.

Elchin Aliyev, Haji Mammadov's nephew gave free testimony.

"I did not want to give testimony, but had to do it after Zakir Nesirov's testimony. I committed crimes connected with my banc activity and gang membership. Accusations on my gang membership are based on Naile Guliyeva's testimony. The investigation does not ask Haji Mammadov about it," he said.

Aliyev also said he does not believe Haji Mammadov murder criminalist Rovshan Aliyev, AFFA president Fatulla Huseynov and Monitor magazine editor-in-chief Elmar Huseynov.

The defendant also said that he committed suicide in NSM jail because of kidnapping Zamire Hajiyeva by Haji Mammadov.

"Jahangir Hajiyev gave good recommendation about me. He was kind to me. When I asked Haji Mammadov about his wife kidnapping he answered that he had no information about this. I learned about it after NSM operation," he said.

The trial will continue October 19.
