President visited Aghdere front line

President Ilham Aliyev started his Barda visit with the opening of Heydar Aliyev monument.

As APA reports, after opening of Heydar Aliyev museum, President Aliyev met with the region residents. It is Mr.Aliyev's third visit to Barda as a President. The Head of State said that Barda had developed, new industrial establishments, schools have been built, and added the poverty level in the country was 49% in 2003 but it was reduced to 29% now.

Mr.Aliyev also noted that he had visited a military unit in Aghdere. Comparing Azerbaijan's economic and political development with other region countries, the Head of State said that some countries in the region found it difficult to pursue an independent policy.

"However, Azerbaijan does not face such problem," he said.

Mr.Aliyev stressed that he had fulfilled the promises made in the run-up to the presidential elections. "Local officials are responsible for development of the regions. What I want from officials is to work honestly. Azerbaijan will not face any problems if officials work honestly," he said.

President Aliyev attended the cornerstone laying of Treatment Diagnostics Center in Barda. The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan is funding this Center. President of the Company Rovnag Abdullayev said that four-storeyed Diagnostics Center would be ready in ten months and to meet modern standards.

The President also familiarized with the construction works in the military unit for Interior Troops in Barda. He met with Defense Minister Ramil Usubov there. The Minister informed about the construction works and said it would be supplied with a 500-place hostel and 1000-places canteen. President Aliyev gave instructions to Minister Usubov to build a military camp for officers in the military unit.

The Head of State held a deliberation on socio-economic development of Barda, Terter and Aghdam regions. The deliberation brought together heads of executive powers of the regions. Mr.Aliyev gave relevant instructions to the executive power heads.
