Azerbaijani players learn rivals for FIDE World Chess Cup 2017

Azerbaijani chess players have learnt their rivals for the first round of the FIDE World Cup 2017 to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia on September 2-27.


Azerbaijani grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov will face Chinese Guanchu Liu, while Teymur Rajabov will take on Helgi Dam Ziska from Faroe Islands.


The tournament will bring together 128 chess players from 48 countries.


The price money of the tournament is $600,000.
