Azerbaijan, Algeria ink MoU on judicial cooperation

Azerbaijan and Algeria have signed the first Memorandum of Understanding on the legal and judicial co-operation. The document was signed by Azerbaijani Justice Minister Fikrat Mammadov and his Algerian counterpart Tayeb Louh in Algiers.


Speaking after the signing ceremony, Algerian minister Louh said that the signing of the MoU, the first on the legal and judicial co-operation, will allow the two countries to exchange experience and consolidate the bilateral cooperation. He stressed the importance attached by President of Algeria Abdelaziz Bouteflika to implementing reforms aimed at guaranteeing the public rights and freedoms of citizens and ensuring security and stability. Louh hailed President Ilham Aliyev`s role in ensuring development, stability and tranquility in Azerbaijan.


Minister Mammadov expressed Azerbaijan`s readiness to establish new avenues of bilateral cooperation with Algeria, notably in justice.


During his visit, the Azerbaijani minister also held meetings with Algeria`s Prime Minister, chairman of the Supreme Court and Prosecutor General.
