The Grand Slam tournament in judo has been held in Japan's Tokyo. Azerbaijan has been represented by six men judoists and two women including Ilgar Mushkiyev (60 kg), Vugar Shirinli (60 kg), Tarlan Kerimov (66 kg), Rustam Orujov (73 kg), Elkhan Rajabli (81 kg), Elkhan Mammadov (90 kg), Kifayat Gasimova (57 kg) and Ramila Yusubova (63 kg).
Best results were shown by Ilgar Mushkiyev and Kifayat Gasimova who finished fifth. Azerbaijani team fisnished 18th among 62 countries. Japan, Russia and Slovenia finished first.
