Bringing to a close a sensational 2011, the end of the Olympic Boxing Test Event at the ExCeL in London made way for the 2011 International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA) Annual Awards Ceremony.

Delight was etched all-over Azeri Magomedrasul Medzhidov's face when he received the Best Elite Boxer of the Year award. "It is a great honour for me to receive this award. But I also feel the responsibility that comes along with it. I need to justify the hope that is put on me. It is a symbol to receive this award in London, where I dream of having a lot of success next summer", stated the Super Heavyweight, World Champion in Baku back in October.
Asror Vohidov after he was awarded Best Junior Boxer of 2011. Dmytro Sosnovsky took the Best Coach trophy. Michael Gallagher from Ireland was honoured with the Best Referee & Judge trophy.

Presided by Dr. Ching-Kuo Wu, AIBA President, the event was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in the heart of the London Docklands in front of delegates from the National Federations who participated in the Olympic Boxing Test Event last week, as well as the International Technical Officials (ITO) and Referee & Judges (R&J) of the event, representatives from the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) and the Amateur Boxing Association of England (ABAE), the AIBA reported.
