The World Boxing Championship is underway in Baku. Fifteen boxers fighting in 64 kg weight category have reached the 1/8 round of the tournament. Ukrainian Denys Berinchyk gained victory over Ecudarian Anderso Rojas, Spanish Jonathan Alonso over Angel Khristov, Uzbek Sanjarbek Rahmonov over Turkish Onur Sipal, British Tomas Stalker over Romarik Bassole, Russian Alexandr Salyanikov over Turkmen Serdar Xuadeyberdiyev, Chinese Qing Hu over French Samir Machrouh, Indian Monaj Kumar over Irish Raymond Moylette, Hungarian Gyula Kate over Yves Ulissi, Kazakh Daniyar Yeleussinov over Japanese Masatsugu Kavachi, Swiss Anthony Yigit over Moroccan Mohamed Al Machhabi, Brazilian Everton dos Santos over Australian Jefri Horna, Italian Vinchenzo Mangiacapare over Mexican Juan Romeroya, Czech Zdenik Chladek over Armenian Khrachik Javakhyan, Iranian Mehdi Toloutibandpi over Pakistanian Amir Khan and Mongolian Erdene Munkh Uranchimeg over Saint Lucia`s Lyundel Marchelini.

In the 81 kg weight category Russian Egor Mekhontsev, US Marcus Brown, Ukrainian Alexandr Gvozdik, Australian Damiyen Huper, Indian Dinesh Kumar, German Enriko Koellinq, Bosnian Dzemal Bosnjak, Chinese Fanlong Meng, Colimbian Jeyson Monroy, Kazakh Adilbek Niyazimbetov, Uzbek Elshod Rasulov, Brazilian Yamaquchi Falkao, Iranian Ehsan Rouzbahani and Irish Jozeph Vard progressed to the 1/8 round of the champonship.
