Azerbaijani sportsmen have claimed 14 medals in Special Olympics World Games held in Athena, Greece.
Timur Karimov and Ilgar Zohrayev won bronze medals in badminton single event and bronze medal in pairs. Dunya Hemidli won a silver medal.
Rufet Jabbarov became a winner in the table tennis singles, while silver medals were snatched by Vefadar Veliyev and Gunay Semedova. Gultekin Garayeva and Gunay Samadova scooped the bronze medal in the pair event.
Azeri swimmer Rashad Akhundov won a gold medal in a 100-meter breaststroke, and silver medal in a freestyle swimming. Azeri female footballers lost to Russia in the final to secure the second place.
