Azerbaijani sambo wrestlers have brought home a clutch of four medals from the world championship in Tashkend, Uzbekistan. Gold medal came from Elchin Mayilov weighting in at 52 kg. Other Azeri wrestler Islam Gasimov grabbed a silver medal in the 57 kg categoty.
Elnur Ahmadov weighting in at 62 kg and Elmaddin Ahmadov at 82 kg secured the bronze medals for Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan was represented by seven sambo fighters in the championship which brought together about 500 wrestlers from 40 countries.
