“Over the past 8 months, our sportsmen have won 300 medals in international tournaments, Olympic and non-Olympic games,” Azerbaijan’s Youth and Sports Minister Azad Rahimov said.
Azerbaijan took 11th place among 205 countries, 3rd place in CIS areas and first place among Muslim states in the recent Singapore Youth Olympic Games, the minister added.
“Our sportsmen claimed 5 of the 51 gold medals in the Games,” the minister pointed out.
