The six round of the Grand Prix tournament in Astrakhan saw Azerbaijani grandmasters Shahriyar Mammadyarov and Vugar Hashimov drew with each other. Other Azeri grandmaster Teymur Rajabov drew with Ukrainian Vassily Ivanchuk.
The day`s other results are as follows: Pavel Eljanov 0-1 Evgeny Alekseev, Boris Gelfand 0-1 Ernesto Inarkiev, Dmitry Yakovenko 1-0 Ruslan Ponomariov, Vladimir Akopian 0-1 Wang Yue, Peter Svidler 0.5-0.5 Peter Leko.
After 6 rounds, Russian Inarkiev leads the table with 4 points. The seventh round will pit Hashimov against Svidler, while Mammadyarov faces Wang Yue and Rajabov clashes with Yakovenko.
