Azerbaijani oarsman, two-fold world champion, Alexander Alexanderov has won a gold medal at the International Wedau Regatta held in Duisburg, Germany.
Azerbaijani national team consisting of two athletes, Alexander Alexanderov and Javid Afandiyev (U-23) has competed in the Regatta for the first time. Azerbaijani Afandiyev finished 11th. The tournament saw participation of oarsmen from 20 countries. Bulgarian athlete Georgi Bojilov ranked second, Greek Stergios Parakhristos took the 3rd place.
