Azerbaijan's capital will host the world youth boxing championship from Sunday, which will bring together 552 boxers from 109 countries.

Azerbaijan's capital will host the world youth boxing championship from Sunday, which will bring together 552 boxers from 109 countries.

Azerbaijan's hopes will be pinned on Salman Alizadeh weighing in at 48 kg, Shaban Shahpalangov at 51 kg, Elnur Zeynalov at 54 kg, Elvin Isayev at 57 kg, Joshgun Aliyev at 60 kg, Tamerlan Abdullayev at 64 kg, Emil Ahmadov at 69 kg, Vatan Huseynli 75 kg, Teymur Mammadov at 81 kg, Hajibaba Hajibabayev at 91 kg and Fargan Omarov at 91 kg.

Six Armenian boxers are also among the participants. The winners of the tournament will earn the right to compete in the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games.
