Azerbaijani football club Gabala have signed their first foreign footballer of the preseason preparation as they made a deal with Sabien Lilaj from the Albania national team. 

The 29-year-old midfielder signed a 1+1 year contract. Lilaj debuted in the professional football playing for Tirana during 2008-2011 season. Then over 2011-2012, he joined Croatia’s Lokomotiv before being tied up with Albania’s Skenderbeu during 2012-2018 season. Lilaj won six domestic league, two cup and two Supercup tournaments. He was also the best footballer of 2015 and 2017 seasons.
