Men's and women's national teams of Azerbaijan in Artistic Gymnastics will participate in the World Championships to be held in Montreal, Canada.

Scheduled for October 2-8, the 47th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships 2017 Montreal will host strongest gymnasts who will perform in front of thousands of thrill-seekers and sports fans. 

Azerbaijan’s medal hopes will be pinned on five athletes including Murad Agarzayev, Benjee Talas, as well as Julia Inshina, Marina Nekrasova and Ekaterina Tishkova.

For seven days, 500 gymnasts from 80 countries will gather at the Olympic Stadium. Starting today, the participants have begun podium training.

The Azerbaijani gymnasts, qualifying in three subgroups, will begin their performances with a base jump. Competitions, during which 12 sets of  medals will be played, will be held at the Olympic Stadium, located on the street named after Baron Pierre de Coubertin, the initiator of the organization of modern Olympics, famous for the phrase "The main thing is not victory, but participation".

In the meantime, Canadian organizers are preparing for the beginning of the competition in Montreal, in Russia's Novosibirsk competitions in gymnastics for the prizes of the Olympic champion Yevgeny Podgorny ended.

Brothers-gymnasts Ali and Huseyn Khalilovs representing Azerbaijan  became winners in the all-round events in the 1st and 3rd youth categories, respectively.
