Azerbaijani judokas will compete in the World Championships to be held in Florida, the U.S., Azertac reported.

Azerbaijan's hopes will be pinned on 19 judo fighters, while the tournament will bring together more than 956 fighters from 55 countries.

Azerbaijan Judo Federation was established in 1972.

Currebtly, Azerbaijani judo fighters Rustam Orujov (73kg) and Elmar Gasimov (100kg) lead the International Judo Federation's ranking.

Rustam Orujov (73 kg) and Elmar Gasimov are the silver medalists of the 31st summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
