At the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup national team of Azerbaijan is tasked to qualify from the group, Secretary General of the Azerbaijani Football Federations Association (AFFA) Elkhan Mammadov said at a press conference in Baku.
"As owners we got the right to qualify for the final stage. Women's football in Azerbaijan is still young, but despite this, we set a goal to at least qualify from the group," he said.
The main thing, according to Mammadov, is support of the people to the national team.
"Recently in Lankaran the Azerbaijani team met with the Latvian team, and in this game, we witnessed the great support of fans," Mammadov said.
Head coach Sissy Raith noted that the Azerbaijani national team has been preparing for the tournament very seriously.
FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will be held in Azerbaijan from September 22 to October 13.
