Locomotive beat fellow Azerbaijani team Baki yesterday to win the CEV Volleyball Women's Challenge Cup for the first time.
Locomotive went into the second leg of the Challenge Cup final at the Heydar Aliyev Sports and Concert Complex on Sunday with a first-leg win under their belts.
Baki put up tough opposition, however, and beat Locomotive 3-2 (27-25, 19-25, 25-21, 20-25, 13-15) in normal time. Locomotive had the edge in the deciding golden set, winning 15:13.
This is the second consecutive year that two Azerbaijani teams have met in the final of this European club tournament. Last season, Azerrail beat Locomotive home and away in the CEV Challenge Cup final.
