The European Woman individual Chess Championshi started in Gaziantep, Turkey yesterday. The Azerbaijani chess players also joined the event.


In the first round Zeynab Mammadyarova played a draw with European champion Yekaterina Lango from Ukraine, and Khayala Abdullah conceded the former world champion Alexandra Kostenyuk of Russia. However, Gulnar Mammadova made a sensation defeatingĀ  Nana Dzagnidze, who recently become theĀ  winner of the ACP Women Cup.
