A roundtable on "Dialogue in the 21st Century: Media-ICT" opened in Baku yesterday. The meeting addresses ICT development in Azerbaijan, the role of IT in expanding the readership of traditional media, and the significance of mobile technologies in this sector.
During the meeting, the results of a survey were announced, which was held among 50 experts who were asked about Internet and mobile telephony development.
Some 30% of the experts said ICT and digital media development exclude traditional media outlets, and another 30% said traditional media outlets will continue to develop in parallel. Meanwhile, 23% said ICT contributes to the development of traditional media outlets, while others believe it will worsen the situation.
