“Half of the youth organizations registered in Azerbaijan have episodic or grant-based activity. Despite that the ministry supports those organizations as well”, deputy minister of youth and sports Intigam Babayev said.

He said more than 200 youth organizations have been registered in the country and they were an integral part of the government’s youth policy. “The ministry of youth and sports is regularly announcing contest to grant these organizations for extension of their activity. We are working to support the activity of these organizations comprehensively and to support their initiatives and projects in topical spheres of the society. At the same time, we support activity of the youth organizations in the international arena and therefore we are regularly organizing annual exhibitions of the youth organizations”.

Babayev said not all of these organizations could establish their activity satisfactory. “Despite that there are more than 200 youth organizations, not all of them are working actively. The annual youth exhibition is a barometer for that. 100-110 organizations join this event and we consider them as the active organizations. Generally to compare it with the world organizations, activity of the Azerbaijani youth organizations is satisfactory”.
