Students from Azerbaijan might get an opportunity to study in Vatican, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Abulfas Garayev said.

“Possibility of Azerbaijani students’ receiving higher education in Vatican will be discussed with Azerbaijan’s prime minister,” Minister Garayev told media following a meeting with President of the Pontifical Council for Culture, Archbishop Gianfranco Ravasi.

“This is Archbishop Ravasi’s first official visit to Azerbaijan. Recognition of Azerbaijani culture across the entire Catholic world is in focus of attention of Vatican,” Garayev added.

The Minister also noted that Vatican offers a new education system for students from Azerbaijan. Ravasi said it is easy to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan as it is a tolerant state, where representatives of religious faiths co-exist peacefully.
