Some 2,358,191 sq. m. of area was cleared from mines and unexploded ordinances in April, the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) said.
ANAMA detonated 2,633 unexploded ordinances and mines in this territory. In April 10 antitank mines and 6 antipersonnel mine were found.
Some 425 specialists, 115 assistant staff, 6 mechanized mine clearing cars and 30 mine detector dogs were involved. So far, 1,331,810,18 sq. m. of area was demined and 613,705 unexploded ammunition was detonated. The ANAMA carries out mine-sweep in Terter, Agdam, Fuzuli, Agstafa, Gadabay and Goygol regions of Azerbaijan and in Garadagh district of Baku.
