A news conference was held in Baku on Nov. 11 following the International Conference “Inter-Civilizational Dialogue: Insight from Azerbaijan” on 40th anniversary of the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu said there was great need in inter-civilizational dialogue in the world today.
“U.S. and Europe have wrong attitude toward Islam after September 11 terrorist attacks”.
The Secretary General said problems existed among confessions throughout the history and Christians had less problems with Muslims than they had with Jews”.
Ihsanoglu said media has great responsibility in inter-civilizational dialogue.
“Media’s major task is in inter-civilizational dialogue is to prevent wrong influences among the populations”.
