The Azerbaijani State Commission on Religious Associations (SCRO) says the recent developments in the Northern Caucasus do not pose danger for country's religious stability.
"Any danger is not expected both concerning religious situation and activity of religious groups in Azerbaijan due to these developments," SCRA Spokesperson Yagut Aliyeva said.
Recently, North Caucasus region of Russia has witnessed unstable situation including a number of terrorist attacks and assassinations. Some part of the Azerbaijani territory borders with the Northern Caucasus.
"The situation in the North Caucasus has been taken into account in the service activities at the northern border, Chief of the State Border Service Elchin Guliyev told reporters on August 18.
Guliyev said Azerbaijan's northern borders are reliably protected. Azerbaijani border guards are prepared for any situation and a professional protection has been implemented at a necessary level, the SBS chief said.
Aliyeva said as a result of the measures taken by the relevant agencies, the country is experiencing internal stability and there is no any ground for negative cases.
She added that the developments in Azerbaijan's northern neighbor do not affect Azerbaijan and the situation in the country is under control.
