The Icherisheher underground station will close for repair on July 1 at about 00.00 and open on September 15, said deputy chief of Baku metropolitan Arif Rasulov.
According to him, the replacement of escalators is a long process, as the term of the old ones expires this year.
"In Moscow and other places the subway closing for repair is considered a normal event and no problems emerge. If the subway had had two exits, no one would have felt its closing. I think this event should be treated normally", noted he.
According to Rasulov, the launching of the new Azadlyg subway station is expected before New Year in late December of this year.
