The first republican contest of mugham will be held in Baku in February, said the press service for the Education Ministry of Azerbaijan, according to Interfax-Azerbaijan.
The statement says that the applications will be received by February 25 at the music college under the Azerbaijan national conservatory.
The contest can involve those willing at the age of 20-35, who should present the recording of their 15 minutes performance on video or DVD format.
Winners will get money prizes and presents and will also get a right to participate in international contests.
The event is held under support of Heydar Aliyev's Foundation.
