About 200 residents of Nardaran settlement of Baku intend to file a claim against chairman of the United Popular Front of Azerbaijan, presidential candidate Qudrat Hasanquliyev, said Rasim Alizade, representing Nardaran residents' interests.
He said they appealed to the court because in his speech on the TV Qudrat Hasanquliyev called Nardaran residents as religious extremists and ignorant people.
"Hasanquliyev said that religious extremists must be terminated and their children must be educated. We will never forgive him for that. He must apologize to the Azerbaijani people. This is a humiliation of all the residents of Nardaran settlement", said Alizade.
The lawyer noted that the claim will be sent to the region, where Qudrat Hasanquliyev lives.
