A ground-breaking ceremony of the center of rehabilitation of children, who need special care, was held in Baku on the basis of a memorandum between Heydar Aliyev's Foundation and Uralsib financial corporation, said the press service for the Heydar Aliyev's Foundation.

The center will be built at an area of 1000 square meters in Yeni Guneshli in line with a project to be financed by Uralsib corporation.

The ceremony was attended by chief executive of Heydar Aliyev's foundation Anar Alekperov, Uralsib representative Alexander Shechokhin and chairman of the Nikol investment commercial bank to play a role of a agent bank, Vasili Khamaz and Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov.

The building of the Origami center for children, needing special care, still functioning in Bulbul settlement, is in a poor state.

The near building, to be constructed in the framework of the project, implemented by Heydar Aliyev's Foundation, will meet the modern standards and create a basis for the mental and physical development of children of the aforementioned category.

The construction is to be completed by late 2009.

Reports say 24,000 children in Azerbaijan need a special care today.
