Previously beaten and stabbed journalist of Azadlyg newspaper Agil Halil left for France, said general director of the newspaper Araz Ahmedov.
He said the visit was arranged by the international organization "Reporters without borders" for provision of Agil Halil's personal security. He was accompanied by an official of the French embassy to Azerbaijan.
"Agil Halil was to leave for France on July 22 on the day of National Press of Azerbaijan but he was detained for a couple of hours by officials of the State Frontier Service and airport policy and then released. Agil Halilleft for France at 5:00 today", noted Ahmedov.
The general director of the newspaper noted that the French embassy issued a visa for a term of 6 months to the journalist.
"Agil Halil does not intend to live there, he will return to Azerbaijan", resumed Ahmedov.
