The Military Court of Grave Crimes held an open court hearing on the case of chief of department of air security of the State concern Azeri airlines Emil Suleymanov and four other peoples, according to a source from the court.
The state prosecutor demanded 15 years of imprisonment for former chief of the airport's security service Emil Suleymanov, 5 years for official of the Ministry of National Security Rafet Aliyev, 3.5 years for chief of the service for operative department of the said service Tamerlan Mikailov, 2.5 years for electronic engineer of the service Tair Asadzade, 2 years for programmer of the service Faik Quliyev.
The next session is scheduled for June 6.
E.Suleymanov is charged under articles 228.1 (illegale purchase, transfer, sale, storing, transportation or carrying fire arms, completing parts, shells (except for hunting rifle and ammunitions), explosive substances or explosive facilities), 274 (high treason), 308 (abuse of powers) of the Criminal Code.
Mikailov is charged under articles 228.1, 234.1 (illegal purchase or storing of drugs or psychotropic substances in the amounts, exceeding the norm of personal consumption, not for the purpose of sale), 302.2 (violation of laws of operative search activity).
Asadzade is charged under articles 228.1, 302.2 and 308.1, R.Aliyev under articles 341.1 (abuse of powers, deliberate negligence) and 341.2.2 (actions with use of arms).
The accused are detained in the investigation ward of the Ministry of National Security. Asadzade was detained in late July of the last year, Mikailov on August 1, E.Suleymanov on September 6 of 2007 and the rest were detained later.
