In his speech, Azerbaijani Minister Ogtay Shiraliyev elected as WHO executive committee vice-president, highly appreciated the assistance WHO rendered to Azerbaijan in fighting bird flu.

He stressed that he got acquainted with Dr. Julio Frenk's biography and he is sure that the WHO Executive Committee members will vote for the worthy candidates.

In his turn, Dr. Julio Frenk said two countries have many things in common in terms of politics, economy and reforms carried out. Dr. Julio Frank also stated that none of Health Ministers of any country has been ever elected as WHO Director General. According to him, his long-term activity in the position of Minister will have a positive influence on his activity if he is elected as Director General.
