Two judoists headed by Coach Aghayar Akhundzadeh represented Azerbaijan. European Champion Elnur Mammadli (73kg) took the fifth place in the championship. Nijat Shixalizadeh (60kg) defeated all rivals and became the World Champion. He was a champion in 2005 World Championship in Croatia, too.

Azerbaijan team took eighth place leaving behind Armenian team, APA reports.
