Today Amsterdam-Beijing Classic Car Endurance Rally 2006 participating automobiles arrived in Baku from Georgia and left Baku for Turkmenistan through ferry boats.

As APA reports, Amsterdam-Beijing Classic Car Endurance Rally 2006, the biggest ever such rally across the Euro-Asian continent, started on July 15 in Amsterdam and ends in Beijing, on August 13 2006.

The rally will lead through 14 countries (The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Rumania, Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and China) on 2 continents. The distance between Amsterdam and Beijing is 17,500 kilometers.

The cars made at least 30 years ago take part in the competition. Among the cars the oldest is Bentley Speed Six (1934) and the youngest are a number of cars made in 1976.

The aim of the rally is to determine which car is the most durable.

The cars are Alfa Romeo GTV Bertone (1973), DAF Coupe (1975), Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I (1958), Bentley Mark VI (1948), Mercedes Gullwing 300 SL (1956), Alvis TD21 (1962), Simca Aronde Monaco Coupe (1963) and others.

They are traveling 700km per day average. No Azerbaijani takes part in the rally.
