Court of Grave Crimes today continued the trial of the gang led by Haji Mammadov, former senior official of Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department.
The court proceedings against Haji Mammadov and his 26 co-defendants are chaired by judge Ali Seyfaliyev, APA reports. Public prosecutors Yusif Abdullayev and Bashir Jafarov announced the indictments against the accused Elshan Mirzayev, Novruz Nuriyev, Yagir Mammadov, Rovshan Aghayev as well as guarantees Adil Ismayilov, Azer Aliyev and Ibrahim Baghirov. The gang leader Haji Mammadov accepted all charges against him, except on one crime. Co-defendants, Interior Ministry Crime Investigation Department chief Zakir Nasirov, department official Kamil Sadraddinov, Malik Mammadov, Haji Mammadov's nephew Elchin Aliyev, Nishad Ismayilov, Elshan Mirzayev, Y.Mammadov, R.Aghayev, A.Huseynov, A.Aliyev and I.Baghirov denied all the charges. The rest defendants partially admitted the charges against them. The public prosecutor suggested continuing the procedures with the succession of testimonies by the accused, sufferers, civil claimants, witnesses, expert opinions, display of evidences, video and audio cassettes. The public prosecutor said solicitations for extra evidences will be submitted to the trial. The judge accepted the public prosecutor’s offer. The trial will be continued on 25 July. The organized gang is accused of kidnapping, terrible anslaughters and several other grave crimes. Mammadov's sister Arife Mammadova told she's not allowed to attend the trial due to the scandal in the previous trials. Mammadova was told that she will be allowed to attend the trial next week.
