The Embassy of Malaysia in Azerbaijan has screened a film "Shusha: A View from Malaysia" with English subtitles, Azernews reports.

The film was shot by Sonmez Mashal Public Association of Cultural Relations with the financial support of the Agency of State Support to NGOs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the 12th Conference of the Ministers of Culture in the Islamic World, organized, in Doha, by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the city of Shusha was declared the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2024.

Taking this into account, Sonmez Mashal Public Association of Cultural Relations organized the Shusha Culture Days in the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur this June.

An exhibition of paintings by Azerbaijani artists on the theme of Garabagh and Shusha was organized in the Kuala Lumpur City Art Gallery, and a documentary film about the history of Shusha was shown within Shusha Culture Days.

In addition, samples of Shusha cuisine were presented to the Malaysians to the sounds of Garabagh music.

The Malaysian Embassy in Azerbaijan, having highly appreciated the events aimed at promoting the history of Shusha in its country, decided to present a film based on these events on the eve of the Victory Day of the Azerbaijani people.

The Malaysian Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Ahmad Kamrizamil Mohd Riza spoke about this at the film presentation ceremony.

And the chairperson of the Sonmez Mashal Public Association of Cultural Relations Shahla Nagiyeva informed about the history of the film's creation.

The author of the film script is Musallim Hasanov, film director-Elchin Gasimov.
