A panel discussion was held on "New Azerbaijani storytelling and novel writing" within the framework of the 41st Istanbul International Book Fair, where Azerbaijan is the guest of honor. According to Azernews, the panel discussed the processes of Azerbaijani prose and the tradition of realism in our literature. The subject of Karabakh and writer-reader relations are also highlighted in New Azerbaijan prose. During the event, Azerbaijani writers Agshin Yenisey, Narmin Kamal, Javid Zeynalli, and Ulvi Babasoy spoke at the panel. Besides, the authors answered the readers' questions. There was also a presentation of the book "The Great Azerbaijani Poet Nizami" translated into Turkish by Yevgeny Bertels, a prominent Russian orientalist-scientist. It is worth noting that this book by Yevgeny Bertels (1890-1957), a corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, laureate of the USSR State Prize, was published in Baku in 1940. The researcher also studied the works of Alishir Navai, Sadi Shirazi, Abdurrahman Jami, Abulgasim Firdovsi, and other prominent poets of the East. Further to the event, a panel discussion on "Publishing culture in Azerbaijan" was organized at Azerbaijan's stand. Publishers Shamil Sadiq, Nurman Tariq, Rafiq Ismayilov, and others spoke about the current situation of the book industry in our country and the tasks ahead in the development of this field. On the same day, signing ceremonies of the books "Absurd Menu" published in Turkish by writer Ravan Javid, and "The History of the Future" (in Turkish) by essayist and literary critic Kismet Rustamov were held at the stand. It should be noted that the exhibition held in Istanbul will continue until November 10.
