The USA State Secretary Condoleezza Rice expressed her deep satisfaction to President Ilham Aliyev for granting emergency aid to remove the results of the hurricane Katrina.
Condoleezza Rice stated in her press conference in Washington that the USA Government welcomes the assistance of Azerbaijan to remove the results of the hurricane and thanks to this country.
The USA embassy in Azerbaijan sent a letter of satisfaction to the Cabinet of Ministers for allocating $500.000 aid to remove the results of the Katrina hurricane. It must be noted that, the government of Azerbaijan decided to grant humanitarian aid to the USA government on 2 September, taking into account that, that the hurricane Katrina resulted in loss of life and damages, as well as left a lot of people homeless in the USA states in the coast of Mexico Gulf.
According to the information given to APA from the press and information center of the Foreign Ministry, the Government of Azerbaijan allocated $500.000 emergency aid to remove the results of the natural disaster and assist in the causalities and administrations of the regions suffered from the hurricane.
