Chinese distance learning courses have been launched at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC). The learning courses are organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva attended the presentation of the courses at the University. As part of her visit, Leyla Aliyeva viewed the 24/7 library at the University.

Equipped with modern software, this library is first of its kind in Azerbaijan as it operates 7 days a week round-the-clock.

There are reading rooms in the library with a specialized and extensive fund, designed according to the open shelf system. Here you can enter the electronic resources of famous libraries. Students will be able to use the electronic database of the National Library, which consists of 60 thousand books, 140 thousand newspapers and magazines, 15 thousand dissertations.

A direct communication session was held with Chinese students studying at the Azerbaijani Language Department of Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Meanwhile, Chinese distance learning courses for beginners will be held 3 times a week for 1.5 hours each. The distance learning courses are paid. The tuition fees of those who need social support will be covered by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.

Participants who completed the elementary level, consisting of listening, speaking, reading and writing, will get general knowledge on the Chinese grammar.

Trainings on the three-month program will be held in remote form without interruption from work.

The project partners are the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, the Confucius Institute at Azerbaijan University of Languages, and Beijing Foreign Studies University. Participants who successfully complete the program will receive certificates. Students learning Chinese will also get a chance to study in China on a scholarship program.
