Children are like little angels. They bring endless amounts of joy, love and kindness. Every single child is a reward and blessing.

Children have the right to grow up in a safe and supportive family and to have opportunities that assist them to reach their full potential. All children have the right to be protected from harm.

International Day for Protection of Children is celebrated in many countries around the world to honor children and raise awareness of children's rights.

The Day was established by the Women's International Democratic Federation during its 1949 congress in Moscow. The first celebration took place on June 1, 1950.

Azerbaijan will also celebrate the International Children's Day.

The holiday is traditionally marked with various activities such as contests, performances and exhibitions by students from art and musical schools of the country.

The Heydar Aliyev Palace will host a gala concert on May 29 to mark the Day, Trend Life reported.

The event is co-organized by the Baku Department of Culture and Tourism Ministry and Azerbaijan TV & Radio Broadcasting Closed Joint-stock Company

Azerbaijan pays great attention to children's rights. There are about 20 laws governing the rights of children, a total of 40 clauses of the laws that regulate recreation, treatment, education of children in Azerbaijan.
