A transfer of 12 prisoners from Azerbaijan to Iran has taken place today.

The prisoners were arrested for crimes committed in the territory of Azerbaijan, said the country’s Justice Ministry, Dec. 22.

Under international law, they will serve the remainder of their sentences in Iran.
